About Lydia

Born and raised in Germany, my passion for dogs started at a young age. I spent my childhood walking and training neighborhood dogs, fascinated by their intelligence and ability to learn. However, my early years were dedicated to competitive golf, which later earned me a golf scholarship at the California State University, Fresno where I majored in Communication.

After an injury changed my path, I found a new purpose by volunteering at a local animal shelter. There, I began training dogs while earning my Dog Trainer Certification from CATCH Canine Academy. This experience solidified my dedication to helping dogs and their owners build strong, trusting relationships.

After graduating with a degree in Communication I moved to Tennessee, where I continued honing my skills by training dogs at a boarding facility. I recently started a family and took the leap to establish my own dog training business, where I now combine my years of experience and passion to help dogs and their owners thrive together.

Methods and Philosophy

At Lydia‘s Hundeschule, we believe that dog training is about more than just teaching commands—it’s about building a trusting and respectful relationship between dog and handler. Our training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement, which means we reward desired behaviors to encourage learning in a way that is clear, effective, and enjoyable for both dogs and their owners.

We focus on creating a strong bond between you and your dog by using motivation, communication, and consistency. Dogs thrive when they understand what is expected of them, so we establish clear rules and boundaries to provide structure and guidance. By reinforcing good behavior and setting fair, consistent expectations, we help dogs develop confidence and reliability in any environment.

Our methods are science-based, humane, and adaptable to each individual dog’s needs. We do not rely on fear or punishment; instead, we shape behavior through patience, encouragement, and proper management. Whether you’re working on basic obedience, behavior modification, or advanced skills, our goal is to empower you with the tools to communicate effectively with your dog and strengthen your partnership for a lifetime.

With trust, structure, and consistency, we create well-mannered dogs who are eager to learn and happy to be by your side.

Lydia truly has the gift for brining out the best in every dog she works with.
